Baja California Sur is a desert seaside shangri-la. The area includes Cabo San Lucas with it's shopping,nightlife,golf, large resorts, and marina, for the traveler who craves to be on the go. For those who prefer to see a bit of old Mexico, there's San Jose del Cabo, the smaller pueblo style town nearer to the Sea of Cortez. And, for the more adventurous at heart, there's the East Cape dirt road out of San Jose. Here you'll find deserted, pristine beaches, small communities of expatriots, artists, fishermen, seasonal world class surf, whale migrations, and even a few rancheros tending to their goats or cattle.
