HISTORY: Aster House has been renting since
1891 (!) and under the present owners since 1982. We've had guests stay as long as 9 years and return as long as for 18 years, so being that well-established and with that kind of loyalty you may be assured of a pleasant stay -- in fact, most of our tenants are referrals or repeats!

NEIGHBORHOOD: The Aster House is at 1020 W Altgeld St, a quiet residential street in Lincoln Park, Chicago's most desirable downtown neighborhood. Here's why:
~Within 1/2 to 2 blocks are restaurants, cafes, pizzerias, sports bars, Whole Foods, fine and resale shops, a park out back (free tennis courts and softball), theatres, art galleries, museums, diverse music venues, the post office, public library, dry cleaners, Starbucks, day spas, hair and nail salons, barbers, a late-night pharmacy, and DePaul University. For any late nights or jet lag there are a 24-hour diner, 5 am pizzerias who deliver and a 3 am bakery who also delivers!
~ Within 2 - 10 blocks are 2 multi-screen movie houses, 2 comedy clubs, health clubs, Lincoln Park, more pocket parks, 2 farmers' markets May 1 - Oct 31, the year-round free city zoo and botanical gardens, the lake/Fullerton beach with its 18-mile biking/running path, and necessities such as more groceries, Best Buy,Target, Barnes & Noble, TJMaxx, Anthropologie, etc. Wrigley Field baseball is 10 blocks right up the street.

TRANSPORTATION: We're 1/2 to 1 block from the Fullerton subway/el (tube) station
(Red, Brown and Purple lines), taxicabs, 2 rental bicycle stations and 4 buses to reach the rest of the city's attractions. For further trips and easy arrival, we are 1 mile from Lakeshore Dr, Routes 90 & 94.

THE HOUSE: Built in 1891, this totally updated Victorian-style house has a back yard, a covered porch with rockers, and spacious sun deck with umbrella table, chaises, chairs and charcoal grill.

THE APARTMENTS:
1. *Alice's Annex*
This spacious flat (~1450 sq.ft) is garden level and all on one floor. It offers

2. *Elizabeth's Place*
1st level, 2-3 bedroom/1 bath, 10' ceilings, ~1500 square feet. It offers

> Dining room: hutch for storage, seats 12

>Bedroom #1: queen bed, dresser, 2 night tables, closet, shelving
>Bedroom #2: full bed, dresser/desk, night table, closet, storage cabinet
>Study or Bedroom #3: music system, desk, sofa, filled bookshelves, deep closet
> Bathroom: shower over clawfoot tub, pedestal sink/vanity, shelving
> Private free laundry with front-loading machines

Rental Policy

50% deposit required to hold stays if less than 3 months stay. Otherwise last month's rent holds unit.
One month deposit for stays of 3 months or more

Arrival Times

Normally after 4 pm, but we try to be flexible. :-)
