One of the greatest joys of going on vacation is the chance to eat out in an entirely new set of restaurants. While San Diego certainly has all the franchise outlets one would expect in a major American city, sometimes it is nice to take a break from the expected and dine in one-of-a-kind establishments that do not exist in any form back home. San Diego has plenty such restaurants to tempt you.
Truluck's
This new restaurant specializes in seafood, but in a way that few restaurants can boast. They operate its own fleet of crabbing boats in Florida and fly the catch in fresh so that it reaches the table just twenty-four hours, or less, after it has been drawn from the sea. Those tourists staying in vacation homes in San Diego who prefer to avoid seafood will also find something to their taste at Truluck's in the form of chops and steaks roasted or grilled to order. Perhaps best of all, here tourists can order up to a hundred different wines by the glass, enabling them to sample several vintages without having to purchase an entire bottle.
Donovan's of La Jolla
This restaurant located in the upscale neighborhood of La Jolla specializes in USDA Prime steaks, but also offers choices such as North Atlantic salmon and Australian rack of lamb. Valet parking will make visitors welcome and allow them to relax after a long day seeing the sights, and the wine list here has won awards.
